So I was given this sad little soul from my sister. I the plant dr in my family. I soaked it for 10 minutes and have it drying now. It doesn't feel brittle or crispy and survived the tug test. Is there any hope for the poor little thing? First air plant ever.

What did you put on it? If it isn’t crispy or soggy and passed the tug test, then there is definitely hope. Make sure you’re drying it upside down.

  2. Lots of tight curl in tillandsia tend to indicate dehydration. Even on curly species they visibly straigthen when hydrated. When i kept mine indoor with lots of air movement in the office, running them under the tap 2x a week wasnt enough hence why some people soak them like 8 hours once a week. The most important thing is lots of air movement in the drying process to avoid rot

I’d hang it fully upside down to dry. I have mine hanging from a stick with loops of jute string. Give it another longer soak, at least a half hour, in a week or so. You can buy a spray bottle with air plant specific food online. Good luck!
