SAULT STE. MARIE — Seniors at McKinley Manor Assisted Living Center spent part of Monday afternoon celebrating at their summer garden party.
Around 40 of them dressed up, some wearing fancy outfits and hats, and spent time with workers, friends and family members while enjoying juice and hors d’oeuvres.
Afterwards, they headed outside to take in the nice weather and enjoy the landscaping that the housekeepers and gardeners have groomed and taken care of the past several months.
It’s all part of McKinley celebrating their 16 years of providing care.
“It’s such a beautiful place and I just think elegant goes with it. And, a lot of the things have kept over time over time and this is where we are at right now. They love it. I love it. This is my heart. This is where it’s at,” said Lauria Kozeyah, Houskeeper/Gardener
McKinley Elementary School was on the property before closing in 2004 and eventually demolished in 2008.
Mckinley Manor was then built on that property and opened up in April 2010.
