I’ve never grown anything from seed before! I wanted an indoor herb garden, but was afraid of bringing bugs in. That happened once and all of my herbs were destroyed. I am so proud of my tiny little basil sprout! Close-up in pic 3.

You’re not going to get good germination with your soil medium. It’s very chunky, you want full contact to the seeds with more of a seed starting mix. Things like coco coir to start are much better than a chunky woody soil.
