Edible Garden is growing its partnership with the largest retail chain in the U.S.

In a July 27 press release, the Belvidere-based hydroponic farming company announced it will expand distribution of premium fresh-cut herbs to Walmart stores in the Mid-Atlantic region.

According to Edible Garden, shipments will begin during the third quarter of 2026. Walmart’s 5,200 locations nationwide include roughly 375 stores in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia, the chain’s site says.

Edible Garden initially partnered with the Bentonville, Ark.-headquartered banner more than a decade ago. Since then, has deepened the relationship to include additional product categories and more locations.

Edible Garden launched in 2015. Its locally grown, sustainable lettuce, organic herbs, hydro basil, salad kits, sauces and protein powders are available at more than 6,000 stores. Retailers also include Aldi, The Fresh Market, H Mart, Kroger, Meijer, ShopRite, Stop & Shop, Stew Leonard’s, Target and Whole Foods Market.

In addition to its headquarters in New Jersey, Edible Garden operates facilities in Michigan and Iowa.

The company also works with contract growers near major U.S. markets to keep products fresh and reduce environmental impact.

Efforts are also underway to expand the company’s existing 400,000 square-foot site in Iowa. The project will establish a ready-to-drink clean nutrition manufacturing hub capable of producing more than 100 million shelf-stable units annually.
