Hi all, seeking ideas on next steps. Located in Victoria Australia in the country, hour and half from the snow. Kikuyu as lawn. Currently winter. Irrigated off spring water (spring runs through property which I capture in a “well” then pump into tanks). Bit of rain over the last week.
The house next door is an air bnb (know the owner really well as they live in a new house we built them on block behind this one) and often the air bnb has trades come and stay for weeks at a time. A lot of army upgrade works at the moment attracting non local trades. For the most part the guests have been good and If we getting chatting u often end up having a beer with them.
The out of town tradies staying next door tried do assist with some lawn levelling (severe sarcasm used and severe lack of driving ability on their part). The lawn and tree damaged is mine to be clear. Guests next door (perpetrators) checkout Saturday
In short what are the next steps to fix this. My plan is to check irrigation first then pull some mud out and add sand to level and fill divets. Should I just wait for spring and deal with looking at this eyesore?
Is the crab apple cooked? Or give her a stake and all good?
They thought it was a wonderful idea to try and drive a big car trailer full of tools up behind their van up a very steep and tight driveway – then they had the ohhhh effff moment and got themselves in the pickle that led to the new landscaping feature
Honestly I’m just angry at the moment but anyone with suggestions on what to do to fix and how to get them to remediate it I’d appreciate the ideas.

No advice but I read this entire thing in an Australian accent.
Shouldn’t the airbnb owner be paying someone to repair this for you?
Go after their insurance. Make it cost them.
Uhh step 1:
Talk to your neighbor, see if he will fix it out of good will
Step 2:
Neighbor denies, then file a police report for vandalism, the neighbor should have the record oh who stayed at their property
Step 3:
With police report, file an insurance claim, and they will sue on your behalf.
Alternative path:
1. Try with neighbor
2. Do it yourself if lawyers or lawsuits are something you don’t want to get into or don’t want home insurance rates to go up.
“Gents, you damaged my lawn and tree. I get you didn’t mean to, but you’ve made a lot of work for me to clean up after your long gone. I think (reasonable amount) will make it right.”
If they tell you to get lost, leave. Then tell the owner you’re filling a report with the police, and are sorry if it gets your neighbor tangled up in the matter.
Brother you shouldn’t lift a finger to fix this. Not your fault. Make them pay for it

My wife did this to our front lawn a week after we bought our new house. I’ve been getting the mower caught in that rut since.
Definitely NBN contractors in that photo, this won’t help you at all, just noticed the gear on truck.
The people that wrecked your lawn are responsible for repairing it. Small claims court case.
i’m american, we have small claims court to sue for small damages. larger damages tends to be more difficult. as an aussie, you could call it a ‘kangaroo court’

I wish my soil could be moist enough to squish like this. Unfortunately we’re in a desert climate and on extremely tight watering restrictions this year.
I don’t think the Americans understand how Australia property work, but that damaged lawn isn’t the owners, it’s the councils.
And you don’t report it to the police, it’s a civil matter.
In the Western USA, the long term solution for this would be to purchase one or more large boulders. Once placed correctly, boulders are incredibly effective at ending this sort of bullshit.
Plus, large rocks are very difficult to move without heavy machinery. So they rarely run away….even if your neighbor dislikes it
