Hello!
Any advice for this tall vase if I want to make an ecosphere using local pond or Lake water? Luckily, my arm can fit all the way in. I would probably use fluvial strata or some kind of other safe substrate rather than straight to pond soil.
Are there any plants that will grow tall but not Wide that I could buy from an aquarium store? Any other general advice for this unusual size?

Vallisneria might be a good option
It’s going to be very difficult to get adequate lighting to the bottom of this tall cylinder. What are the dimensions? And the diameter?
