MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – With only a few days remaining of the Japanese delegates’ visit to Marquette, they spent the fourth full day of activities on July 23 looking at how the city establishes itself as a tourist destination.
Delegates started the day by meeting with Travel Marquette and got an inside look at the role the organization plays in promoting Marquette County as a tourist destination.
After, delegates received a tour of the Marquette Goodwill to understand the role it plays with local employment. They then had the opportunity to break out of the city and explore the gardens in Marquette and Chocolay Townships.
This is the first time in 26 years that the Marquette Garden Tour happened during a Higashiomi delegation visit.
