This past week, the Butte County Center Atrium got a new stepping stone with a mosaic motif of California Poppies. The stepping stone was a team effort made and donated by members of the Lake Oroville Area Garden Club to the Atrium, where usually they focus only on caring for the unique garden. Shown in the photo, from left to right, is members of the Lake Oroville Area Garden Club Atrium Care Team Denise Wright, Linda Oslin,Peggy Mitchell and Gay Lynne Trumm. Debbie Riggs is absent from the photo. The Atrium garden is located at 25 County Center Drive, which shared the building with many county offices, including the Treasurer-Tax Collector, District Attorney and Butte County Supervisors. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on normal business days. Members of the public are welcome to visit the semi-tropical garden and pond. The Lake Oroville Area Garden Club meets the second Thursday of each month from September through June at 9:30 a.m. at the Trinity Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, located at 2350 Foothill Boulevard in Oroville. How to submit a snapshot
Snapshots, reader-submitted photos of community events, are published Monday. They may include service projects, guest speakers at club meetings, awards being presented or kids doing school projects. Just make sure there are people in the photo — no more than 12 — and keep it current.
