SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Unity Gardens hosted its annual West Side BBQ and Craft Fair at Prast Boulevard on Wednesday, drawing neighbors together for food trucks, live music, local vendors and garden tours.
The free event also featured a kid’s area, a dunk tank and a 50/50 raffle.
Sara Stewart, founder and executive director of Unity Gardens, said the event reflects the organization’s broader mission for the area.
“It started a long time ago, where we gather in the garden to celebrate our community,” Steward said. “The west side of our city has been underserved for years, and Unity Gardens is trying to bring arts and information and investment here.”
Unity Gardens hosts community events throughout the year on South Bend’s west side.
