The South Schuylkill Garden Club presented $1,000 scholarships to four Schuylkill County students.
Club President Kim Morgan said: “These scholarships are a good investment in young people who will do much to further our club’s mission to promote gardening and help our environment.”
The winners are:
Maya J. Krammes, Schuylkill Haven Area High School. She plans to study biology and ecology at Shippensburg University and to pursue a career as a biological science technician.
Lily E. Krammes, Schuylkill Haven, plans to major in biology and ecology at Shippensburg to become a naturalist or field botanist.
Emmet P. Portland, Nativity BVM, is going to major in biology in the Lebanon Valley College honors program. He plans to become a research scientist with a focus on biological and environmental science.
Kyle R. Bowman, Tri-Valley High School, enrolled at Pennsylvania College of Technology with a major in heavy equipment operations/technology to pursue a career as a heavy equipment operator.
