Don’t get me wrong, this has been a good plant week. I went to see my local plant lady and picked up a few beauties, and today my order from a nursery came in. But the shipment was SO DRY and the two I paid most for aren’t in great condition. They have a 7 day guarantee, but it has so many loopholes. I’m hoping they replace at least this plant. In the meantime, does anyone know how I can help it out, or if it can be saved? It’s the Echiveria Rainbow, on my top 10 list, and I’d really hate to see it wasted. I bottom watered it and it soaked that right up. Not sure what else to do. *in addition to what it looks like, several leaves are about to fall off. Also it seems to be planted in soil, as is everything from the order. The soil was so dry a lot of it had fallen out into the paper it was wrapped in.

That’s a tough one considering it does look a bit rough but honestly it’s not that bad I’ve seen much much worse. On the soil being in the dry side that actually a really good thing considering the opposite would end up you having a delivered mound of rotting mush blob. IMO the leaf damage like scraping is hard to avoid considering how shippers treat packages. I think it’s pretty superficial and will eventually be gone with natural growth as the leaves gain hydration and naturally shed with new growth. Keep that baby on your top ten list she will be beautiful again with your care.
Its completely savable just unpot it and let it rest for a day and plant it in your echeveria mix in my experience I have ordered rainbows online twice and it seems even with good packaging rainbows are prone to get some scars and the stalk and leaves may bend slightly too (this can also happen if you leave it sideways on a table and the plant is dry).
Aw man I’m sorry it sure was pretty. I’m sorry that just sucks!!!!
