LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – According to reports, Texas Tech and Duke will meet once again inside Madison Square Garden for a December basketball game.
The news, reported by ESPN’s Jeff Borzello, was reported on Friday morning after a matchup featuring Michigan and Duke was canceled because of a “misinterpretation of broadcast rights.”
According to the report, the two programs tried to move the game from MSG to LoanDepot Park in Miami where the Marlins play. After not coming to an agreement, the game was forced to be called off.
Now, the Blue Devils will meet up with the Red Raiders in New York City for a Dec. 21 game. Last season, Texas Tech took down Duke in a one-point game, 82-81.
The report also says the game will be streamed on Prime Video after Amazon and Duke agreed to a non-conference broadcast deal for a trio of neutral site contests.
Duke leads Texas Tech all time with a 2-1 record including postseason matchups. Texas Tech’s lone win was last season. In the 2018 regular season, Duke beat Texas Tech, 69-58, with the Red Raiders eventually finding themselves in the National Championship game.
In the 2021-22 season, Duke took down Texas Tech, 78-73, in the NCAA Tournament.
