A man has been taken to hospital following a stabbing at a town centre park. Emergency responders were called to Brenchley Gardens, near Maidstone East train station, at 5.20pm on Wednesday (July 22) after receiving reports of an assault in the area.
Kent Police has confirmed a man in his 40s had sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds. He was taken to a London hospital for further care.
A police cordon was established around the scene as officers carried out enquiries. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
A police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called following a report of an assault near Brenchley Gardens, Maidstone, at 5.20pm on Wednesday. Emergency services attended and a man in his 40s was taken to a London hospital by paramedics for injuries consistent with stab wounds which were not described as life threatening.
“No arrests have yet been made and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/119474/26.”
