Bhopal: A 25-year-old gardener employed at a minister’s bungalow was found dead in the Upper Lake near VIP Road on Sunday, a day after he went missing. Police suspect he died by suicide, though the exact cause will be established after investigation.The deceased was identified as Sunil Batham, 25, a resident of Bhim Nagar. According to Talaiya police, Sunil had gone to work on Saturday but did not return home. His family searched for him throughout the day and night before his body was found floating in the lake on Sunday afternoon.When the body was recovered, police found a damaged mobile phone and a vehicle key in his jeans pocket. Initially, his identity could not be established as the phone had stopped working after remaining submerged in water. Police later removed two SIM cards from the handset and inserted them into another mobile phone, which helped them trace his identity.Police said Sunil lived with his mother, while his two sisters are married. No suicide note was found, and the reason behind the suspected suicide remains unclear.A case has been registered, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination. Police are questioning family members and examining all possible circumstances leading to the death.
