Just got a nice, cheap 10 gal. I have no current plans for it yet but I want to make it gorgeous. Whether it be fish, plants, or small inverts, give me some ideas! I am cross posting this to other subreddits to reach some different niches.

I am a beginner in the hobby, so I'm still learning quite a bit. Any and all reccs are awesome. I'm working on cleaning the tank and making 100% sure its watertight before I decide on anything.

For specifics, it is a glass tank, with a wire mesh lid. I recieved it with a thermometer and hygrometer but it is removable.

Do you know if it was made for reptiles or for fish? I see it has a mesh lid and a thermometer/hydrometer, so I’m assuming for reptiles/land animals. In which I wouldn’t suggest any fish or aquatic animals, as the tank wasn’t built for water.

Anyways, here’s some stuff that could fit in here:

-Blue death feigning beetles/desert ironclad beetles
-Isopod colony (I’d reccomend armadilidium Vulgare, dairy cows and powders usually breed and eat super fast! A. Vulgare are slower)
-Snails (though you probably will have to cover the lid mesh in something to keep most of the humidity in)

An open style terrarium with isopods or a small mantis species like ghost mantis
