MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Today, a person was taken to a local hospital by paramedics after driving through the gates of the bison exhibit at the Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo.
Zoo officials said that all animals are safe and secure, and are actively repairing the damaged fence.
The Monroe Police Department is investigating the incident.
Officials said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
