My nana has had this Flaming Katy for 3 years since her husband died and it recently started yellowing in the center. It sits in a northwest facing window and gets watered once a week. She's not sure if she should try repotting it or just chop and prop it and is scared to kill it if she does anything. Any advice would be appreciated !!

It’s beautiful. From the photos it looks like just the older, bottom leaves are yellowing? If that is correct, it can be normal for plants to drop their oldest leaves to make more energy available to newer growth.
If it’s the whole plant suddenly yellowing, it could be a water issue. If you’ve been hit with a heat wave recently it could be thirstier than usual or the soil has gone hydrophobic after these years. If water seems to run straight through without saturating the soil that is the likely case and would benefit from being soaked in a tub of water and perhaps a soil refresh.
Sorry for the overload. Any more details you may be able to give could be helpful!! Good luck 🙂
PS.. never a bad idea to take some cuttings anyways in case to propagate. There’s plenty of plant there to spare 🙂
