My mom is away for another week on vacation. I usually only deal with tomatoes and peppers. This damage happened sometime between now (8:30pm) and this morning (9am). Do I just remove the damaged limb and it'll crust over like a scab? Or is there bandaging that should be done?

I don't even know how this limb broke 😩 maybe the latest heat has something to do with it since it's been over 100* the last couple days.

Anyways, thanks for any advice 🙏🏼

    OUCH!
I am unsure if this kind of damage can be bound and fixed, if you act quickly.

Make a clean cut at the base of the rip and hope for the best

Just cut it off as cleanly as possibly and it will start to heal. Trees compartmentalize their decay, so it should just seal off and heal over.

You can do a either cut off or you can attempt to realign the branch back and wrap, tape or a clamp to keep the branch attached. Then monitor it to see if the branch shows signs of healing.
