On July 25 & 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., more than 300 private gardens will swing open their white picket fences and welcome visitors for one of Buffalo’s most beloved summer traditions. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or simply love strolling through beautiful neighborhoods, it’s the perfect way to spend a summer day.

Think of Garden Walk Buffalo as a real-life Pinterest board. Discover a flower you’d love to plant, admire creative landscaping ideas, or snap photos of patios and container gardens to recreate at home. (First-time homeowners, this is your sign to bring a notepad and your camera.)

The best part? You can experience it however you’d like—spend the entire day wandering neighborhood after neighborhood or simply stop by for a quick stroll and literally smell the roses.

And while Garden Walk Buffalo is the signature event, it’s only one piece of what Gardens Buffalo Niagara has blooming all summer long.

What began with just 29 gardens has blossomed into one of the largest garden tours in the country, with more than 1,000 gardens now participating throughout the WNY region in various neighborhoods.

Every Thursday and Friday in July, the organization hosts Open Gardens, giving visitors the chance to explore gardens throughout Erie and Niagara Counties. Check the online guide to discover which gardens are open each week and plan your own self-guided adventure.

Looking for an even more magical experience? On July 31, Gardens Buffalo Niagara is debuting its brand-new Twilight Garden Tour, where select gardens can be explored as the sun begins to set—a completely different way to experience these beautiful spaces.
