The polytunnel has changed dramatically over the last few weeks, with tomatoes bursting with flowers and fruit and almost touching the roof! it’s like a jungle in there, and I’ll be showing you some of the things I’m doing in there.
And not just that. There are various other things going on around the plot. Some pests, some disease, and lots of ongoing garden maintenance. The challenges are real!

Itโs amazing what plants get up too when our backs are turned.
Just wondering if you have a solar fan in your poly tunnel, Iโve seen it on the Grow Up channel and thought it was cool. Hope your plants are thriving
Loved, loved the time lapse. Isn't nature wonderful.
I absolutely love your channel. I've learned a few things from you and am inspired to keep doing despite some failures. Your sense of humour is quite refreshing. Looking forward to more videos. Good gardening!
Hi Jim , im sure i saw a vid on Home Grown Veg advising not to use Tomorite *on onions – might be wrong though ๐
Love this! Really appreciate all the work and patience the time lapse video must have taken โค Happy gardening
The green bit at the top of your tomatoes are called Calyx
What a brilliant start to the vlog James, a lot of patience and effort for the time lapse footage, I also have a Riolink camera on my plot, I might give the timelapse ago everything is looking great, Steve
Top Jim politunel Tomatoes bladeren verwijderen bloems water geven the beds Rondleiding snoeien thans the video good weekend friend ๐ค๏ธ๐ชด๐ฑ๐ฟ๐๐ฟ๐ ๐ต๏ธโ๏ธ๐ ๐๏ธ๐ฅฆ๐ฅ
Try a solor powder fan for air flow ๐
The flower at the front with the big red flowers on is beautiful wat is the name of it as would like to grow it next year
Spray those tomatoes with hydrogen peroxide it will kill that blight dead had some on my potatoes 3 weeks ago. None since. Stop the spread.๐
The time lapse makes it look like the tomatoes are dancing ๐
Maybe some solar fans in the poly one for intake and for exhaust at the other end?
Im growing tomatoes in my wee greenhouse my husband handmade for me up in my allotment. 1st time growing tomatoes, they all germinated, gave loads away, but have loads of fruits setting. Im amazed by them! I'm just south of Aberdeen on the east coast, so a much cooler climate, so I'm probably a few weeks behind you. Great video, i love your timelapse. I have a wee cheap wildlife camera, but may upgrade to the same as you, as that looks cracking ๐
Time lapse was awesome Jim you were so worried early in the game but wow just wow what a spectacular looking poly full of treasure. Have an amazing day and stay cool, Ali ๐33c ๐ฅต๐จ๐ฆ
Any chance of a pasta sauce recipe when you have enough tomatoes? Mine always comes out a bit sour๐
I've lost some of my marigolds to spider mite. Been a bad year for it for me this year.
Great work, well done
Hi Jim,I am not growing 3 cucumber plants next year,as itโs just to many I have had at least 30 cucumbers over the last few weeks.so next year Iโm going to do 1 cucumber,1 tomato. And Iโm going to try a melon, not sure how I will get on with that in my greenhouse. My potatoes have been lovely no problem at all. Going to grow some more soon,if itโs not to late.๐
Very unusual to get blight in a tunnel! Just spray with JBA Blight Guard. I use it outdoors and have been blight free for 4 years while my plot neighbours suffer. A totally natural product and good for spuds too.
Are you sure it was blight and not septoria leaf spot? Only asking because once a plant has any blight it is usually beyond saving as the disease has entered the stem.
37:45 I'd remove any tomato fruit that is past the breaker point as the plant does nothing to help with ripening from that point onwards. This will further open the area and stop that fruit from getting diseases etc.
Tomato flower set is erratic at over 32ยฐC in a tunnel and colour formation slows at 33ยฐC.
Yep, common practice to change to a high K feed like Tomorite from May onwards. Have a go with sulphate of potash next year, same effect but the sulphur really enhances the onion pungency.
According to BlightSpy there have only been 2 days of Hutton Alerts this year for blight in your area, and they were mid-May. So most likely septoria
The time lapse was epic!! Why don't you get some of those solar fans like Danny has on the Grow up channel? He's always raving about how good they are for the airflow ๐
Loved the time lapse. Isnโt nature wonderfulโคโคโค.
How are your water levels matey?
Amazing
