If your garden set up is missing a bit of shade, we’ve spotted a stylish parasol available for less than £60 at Dunelm. The 2.7M Tilt and Crank Parasol with Wooden Effect Pole has a free standing wood grain effect pole with a trendy black and white striped cover.

With a crank for easy opening, the parasol has a tilt function for adjustable coverage, allowing you to stay shaded as the sun moves through the sky. According to the brand ‘eight sturdy ribs provide reliable support’ although it’s worth noting a weight is required for stability.

The parasol measures: H 246cm x W 261cm x D 261cm making it suited to cover smaller bistro sets and loungers. It comes part assembled, with some parts needing to be fitted together.

One pleased buyer said: “Very sturdy product. Attractive design and good quality fabric!”

Another shopper said: “Cool striped parasol, good size. “

Although, they did note: “Deducted one star as it was poorly finished with lots of loose threads, hoping it doesn’t fray.” So this might be something to keep in mind.

Alternatively, Argos sells the Habitat 2.5m Overhanging Garden Parasol – Black which is generously sized and can be positioned over anything from a table, to some loungers, or a hot tub.

The parasol is priced at £100 but shoppers will need a separate base to keep it stable, Argos sells a quarter for £25.

If you’re looking for a complete set, Argos also sells the Sicily 4 Seater Metal Patio Set – Grey which comprises four stackable chairs, a round glass top table, and a matching parasol, ideal for al fresco dining this summer.

Usually priced at £180, it’s now available for £90, representing a 50% saving. Currently the number one best-seller on the Argos website, the Sicily patio set has been praised for its comfort and practicality, although it’s worth noting a parasol base is not included.

With a steel and fabric construction, the set is designed to withstand the weather outdoors, although storage is advised when not in use during the colder months. Minimal assembly is required which involves a simple fitting together of the parasol.
