In just a little under a month, many of the students in our area will be back in class.

But for kids, as Susan Lucas assures us, at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens, summer is far from over.

“We have our demo garden, which is for children of all ages to come out and learn, how things like how carrots grow, how to make tea from our herb garden, Cyanotypes, all sorts of cool things,” Lucas said.

For the adults, Lucas was also adamant that when the sun goes down, the fun begins.

“We have live music right on the pavilion, regional bands that you probably won’t find anywhere else come out and fill our pavilion,” Lucas said. “Sound fills the whole garden; people come out and do a plant walk first, and they come out and enjoy the food trucks.”
