My calathea roseopicta was never a beauty but after a period she started getting worse and worse, i cut crunchy leaf after crunchy leaf in order to give more energy to the left ones, but didn’t help. I was so disappointed and I started reading. Between all the possibilities I identified the problem in the water, it contains to many minerals for those plants and found out that they like semi hydro. So I jumped on the rescue train and at first i moved her from soil to leca. The semi hydro setup had not success at first, I was almost there to throw everything away but I saw really small corns going out from the lower “””bulbs”””. So i decided to go all the way in, cut everything, clean everything, wait for the cut to seal and feed her only on distilled water. After tree weeks, i started seeing the fist leafs going out from those ugly fuckers and finally today after two more weeks the small leafs are starting to unfurl completely! I’m so happy and i wanted to share a bit of hope for those drama queens! Hope that this inspires you to save your calathea from the trash ❤️
