Hi everyone!
About two weeks ago I planted these standing pitchers in this pot. I originally chose a deeper pot because I figured they’d appreciate having plenty of room for their roots to grow, but now I’m wondering if I may have gone too deep.

Do these look okay, or would they be better off in a shallower pot? Any advice or concerns you see would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Btw they’re in 100% sphagnum moss.

it will tend to dry out qicker so you will have to water more often, I would maybe start with a smaller pot and size up gradually

Deeper the better. Helps keep the roots healthy and cool. I would just make sure that pot is sealed on the inside so it doesn’t leach into the soil, they won’t like that.

  3. No, Sarracenia will grow extremely deep roots if given a large enough pot. Shallow pots are bad for Sarracenia.

Is that a terracotta pot? Generally they’re not recommended for carnivorous plants as they increase the rate at which the moss will dry out, and can potentially leach salts into the soil over time.
