Madison Square Garden has long been synonymous with WWE’s biggest moments, and the next Saturday Night’s Main Event has the potential to add another memorable chapter.
While only two matches have been officially announced, WWE is expected to expand the card over the coming week as the company builds toward SummerSlam on August 1-2.

With Fanatics Fest bringing many of WWE’s biggest names to New York City earlier in the week—including Roman Reigns, John Cena, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, The Undertaker, Trish Stratus, and more—the stage is set for a star-studded television special.
Here is a preview with announced matches and how to watch information.

Danhausen Returns to MSG
The biggest story of the night could be Danhausen’s return to Madison Square Garden, home of the 2026 NBA Champions, the New York Knicks.
The sports world recognizes Danhausen as the wrestler who “uncursed” the Knicks, leading to their winning streak that ultimately led to the championship.
Expect Danhausen to receive a heroes welcome with New York wrestling fans inside the World’s Most Famous Arena.
This will be a good spot for JD McDonagh as well to showcase himself as a reliable talent, even if he doesn’t pick up the win.

Could We See New Women’s Tag Team Champions?
Since capturing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania, Scream Mode has consistently answered every challenge put before them.
Their title reign has exceeded expectations, but Saturday may represent their toughest defense yet.
Fatal Influence has steadily gained momentum as one of WWE’s strongest women’s factions, and Madison Square Garden feels like the kind of stage where WWE could make a significant championship change. Whether that happens remains to be seen, but this matchup carries legitimate upset potential.

Earlier in the day, many of WWE’s biggest names are already scheduled to be in New York City for Fanatics Fest.
That creates an obvious opportunity for WWE to deliver a star-filled show. Even if some of those names are not advertised for matches, don’t be surprised if Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, John Cena, Rhea Ripley, or other headline stars make appearances to further SummerSlam storylines.
