27-year-old killed in shooting in Milwaukee’s Garden Homes neighborhood
A 27-year-old was shot and killed in a double shooting Thursday afternoon in Milwaukee’s Garden Homes neighborhood.

New surveillance footage from Gary’s Food Mart near 27th and Atkinson shows the moments at 27-year-old man was killed in a shooting.
Video shows a white Lexus pull up next to a blue Volkswagen SUV, and a person in the passenger seat opens fire, pointing the barrel of a gun out the window.
The double shooting unfolded Thursday afternoon in Milwaukee’s Garden Homes neighborhood.
Police said suspects in a vehicle fired several shots into another vehicle at 2:02 p.m. near 27th Street and Atkinson Avenue.
Police said two people were shot. A 22-year-old victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for their injuries.
“I’ve been on this block for five years, and I’ve never seen anything like this happen,” said Mildred Johnson.
12 News reporter Jasmine Franklin noted two cars were damaged and the sidewalk near the shooting scene was taped off.
“Anytime a life is lost, it’s frustrating, especially when it could be preventable,” said Vincent Toney.
12 News crews counted at least 25 evidence markers. A busy stretch of 27th Street was closed for three hours.
Milwaukee police said they have not made any arrests and are looking for “unknown suspect(s).”
Police did not share what led up to the shooting.
