The Lake County Master Gardeners will offer advice for people hoping to attract birds to their homes and gardens during a free talk at 10 a.m. Aug. 1, at Mentor Public Library’s Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Ave.
All birds require three things: food, shelter and water. The master gardeners will share steps that anyone can take to make their home for friendly to their feathered friends, according to a news release.
Registration is encouraged. Sign up at www.mentorpl.org or by calling the Mentor library at 440-255-8811 ext. 1.
For those interested in gardening, Mentor Public Library also has a Seed Library. Patrons can check out free vegetable, flower, fruit and herb seeds from the library’s Main, Lake, and Headlands branches. The seeds are free, and patrons can borrow up to 15 packets per season.
