THE YOUTH PROTECTION ORDINANCE. NEW TONIGHT A FORMER SEDGE GARDEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHING ASSISTANT HAS BEEN SENTENCED FOLLOWING A CHILD ABUSE INVESTIGATION IN APRIL. THERESA HAZLETT PLED GUILTY TO ONE COUNT OF MISDEMEANOR CHILD ABUSE AND CONTRIBUTING TO THE DELINQUENCY OF A JUVENILE. AS PART OF HER SENTENCING, HAZLETT WILL SPEND UP TO 60 DAYS BEHIND BARS FOR THE CHILD ABUSE CHARGE AND UP TO 45 DAYS FOR CONTRIBUTING TO THE DELINQUENCY OF A JUVENILE. A former Sedge Garden Elementary School teaching assistant has been sentenced after a child abuse investigation.In April, Teresa Hazlett pled guilty to misdemeanor child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. As part of her sentencing, Hazlett will spend up to 60 days behind bars for the child abuse charge, and up to 45 days for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.Following her release, Hazlett will be on supervised probation and will be required to complete community service.
