Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have tied the knot.
After months of speculation — including a permit request around Madison Square Garden, decor deliveries at the venue and a custom tux fitting for Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid — the pop star and tight end, both 36 years old, exchanged vows inside MSG.
The couple shared news of the marriage in an advertisement displayed outside MSG, and the New York Times reported it received a release confirming the nuptials from Swift’s publicist.
Befitting the pair’s celebrity, spanning both the NFL and pop culture worlds, the guest list included an eclectic mix of athletes, performers, artists and fashion icons, with videos and photos of purported guests springing up on social media all day Friday.
Among those seen formally dressed around Manhattan before the reported 5:30 p.m. ceremony were Chiefs teammates Chris Jones, Kareem Hunt and Trent McDuffie; New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and his wife, Jen; Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford; former NFL defensive back Richard Sherman; Seattle Seahawks receiver Cooper Kupp; former USWNT star Abby Wambach; and broadcaster Erin Andrews and her husband, Jarret Stoll. Other celebrities spotted in the area included actors Hugh Grant, Bradley Cooper, Ethan Hawke and Dakota Johnson; musicians Benson Boone, Ed Sheeran and Kelsea Ballerini; and models Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss.
Swift and Kelce’s love story has been brewing since the summer of 2023.
During an episode of the “New Heights” podcast that July, Kelce revealed to his brother and co-host, Jason, that he attended Swift’s Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium but was disappointed that he didn’t meet her and give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.
Two months later, Swift was spotted at her first Chiefs game, sitting in a box with Kelce’s mom, Donna, and cheering in a red-and-white jacket as Kansas City beat the Chicago Bears 41-10.

Swift’s presence at Chiefs games became a mainstay after that, and TV broadcasts regularly panned to show her in attendance. She went to 13 games that season — 10 of which the Chiefs won — including the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII win against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, Kelce’s third Super Bowl ring. After the game, Swift met Kelce on the field to celebrate.
Swift’s football fandom created a frenzy that was recognized by fans and players alike. She was credited with bringing a new, younger fanbase to the NFL, and in The Athletic’s 2024 anonymous player poll, 72.5 percent of players said they viewed Swift’s interest in the game as a positive for the league.
The 14-time Grammy winner and 11-time Pro Bowl player have gotten more comfortable embracing the attention around their relationship. Kelce appeared on stage with Swift during one of her concerts at Wembley Stadium in June 2024; Swift has put on a surprise performance for two consecutive years at Kelce’s Tight End University; and the couple sat courtside during Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Eastern Conference finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks. Swift later attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals at MSG, where she sported a “Stevie Knicks” shirt that also served as an homage to the singer who was expected to perform at Friday’s festivities.
In one of their most anticipated moments, Swift appeared on a “New Heights” episode on Aug. 13, 2025, where she and Kelce discussed their relationship and she announced the release of her 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” According to Guinness World Records, the episode drew the most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube, with 1.3 million.
A few weeks later, on Aug. 26, 2025, the couple announced their engagement in an Instagram post. It was soon revealed that Kelce popped the question right after the podcast recording, with Swift describing it as a “ruse” to keep her from looking out at the garden backdrop her fiancé had arranged for the big moment.
Almost three years to the day that Kelce attended the Eras Tour in Kansas City, he got to exchange much more than a friendship bracelet with Swift. Wedding rings and “I dos” surely make up for that.
