Ken Riley, president of the Alumni Corporation Board, spoke about Stephens’ impact.
“Pat was one of my best friends, one of my greatest mentors, so the garden serves as a permanent reminder of his legacy and all the work that he did,” Riley said. “He believed in community support, he believed in philanthropy, he believed in giving back, and he modeled it the entire time he was alive.”
Stephens was a dedicated volunteer for Rotary Lights, Irishfest, and the Freedom Honor Flight.
