COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Undefeated professional boxer Troy Nash has dreamed of moments like this since he was a child.

Now, the 21-year-old Colorado Springs native is preparing for what he calls the biggest fight of his young career when he steps into the ring at Madison Square Garden on July 26.

“Since I was a kid I knew things like this would happen, and it’s only going to get bigger and bigger from here,” Nash said.

Nash enters the bout undefeated and will fight on a card streamed on Paramount+, giving him one of the biggest stages of his career. While he acknowledges the significance of fighting inside one of boxing’s most iconic venues, he said his mindset hasn’t changed.

“I treat every fight like it’s a championship fight,” Nash said. “I don’t care who the guy is, his record, anything. This is a great opportunity that I got, and I can’t fumble the opportunity.”

Following his most recent victory, Nash said he expected another high-profile opportunity after impressing promoters. Since then, he has spent more than a month in training camp preparing for the matchup.

Although success has come quickly, Nash said his focus remains on developing the talent he believes God has given him.

“I feel like God blessed me with great talent and ability,” he said. “Now it’s just me to go train hard and do what I have to do to make the ability come all the way out.”

For Nash, boxing is about more than winning fights. He sees the sport as a way to create lasting opportunities for his family.

“This is real deal business where you can change your family’s life,” Nash said. “I just look at it like all I have to do is keep working hard and, literally just off of working hard and using my skills and my IQ, I could literally change everyone around me’s life.”

Growing up in southeast Colorado Springs and attending Panorama Middle School, Nash hopes his journey inspires young athletes from the Pikes Peak region.

“It doesn’t matter where you come from or what your background is,” he said. “As long as you stay focused and stay locked in on your craft, you can do big things.”

Now, with Madison Square Garden awaiting, Nash is eager to showcase his skills on one of boxing’s biggest stages while representing Colorado Springs and the 719.

“I’m a guy who’s been doing this at a high level since I turned pro, since the amateurs fighting the best of the best,” Nash said. “Every time I go in there, you guys are going to see fireworks and a great performance.”

Nash will make the walk on July 26th. You can watch his fight on Paramount+.
