The Chattanooga Police Department’s “PAL” Gardening Initiative is teaching local kids how to grow fresh food in their backyards.
The “Roots of Respect” program, which brings kids aged 6 to 17 together with cops to plant seeds and harvest crops, started back in May.
Two months in, participants are seeing the fruits of their labors, as they have harvested bell peppers, banana peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes.
If your child is interested in joining, they still can, as the program runs through October!
