A heat-related death is being reported in Hinds County as temperatures have been reaching the 90s with real feels in the triple digits.The Hinds County Coroner said a woman in Bolton, 83-year-old Martha Van Egmond, was working in her garden at her home on E. Madison Street Saturday when she collapsed in the heat.The coroner said she was found around 4 p.m. They expect heat exposure to be a contributing factor in her death.Weather experts have issued a Heat Advisory for Hinds County until at least 9 p.m. Tuesday.They advise people to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.They also say to take extra precautions when outside: Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothes, try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening and to take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
