Judging for this year’s Anglia in Bloom competition will take place in Stansted on Monday (July 6).
After last year’s success, winning silver gilt for the third time in succession in the ‘town’ category, entrants are hoping their efforts to keep Stansted blooming, despite the fierce heat, will once again pay off.
Trevor Lloyd, the village organiser for Anglia in Bloom, said judges would begin their tour following a presentation outside the Mountfitchet Exchange at 10am.

They will take in Stansted’s streets, visit community organisations, sports clubs, churches and village open spaces.
The regional event celebrates the very best of community gardening, horticultural excellence, and environmental care across the East of England.
Last year, TouchPoint Stansted’s community garden and the Human Roots allotment group were noted for their sustainable growing, while Stansted Social Club won ‘Gold’ in the pub category and Bentfield Primary School received the award for Best Young People’s Project (Under 12) after pupils and staff transformed a bare allotment into a thriving garden.
