  1. We used to have regular outages in san Fernando valley. We bought personal size fans and lights that use batteries. Also jackery and gas generator. Luckily we never had extended outages. We had whole house fan that helped save money on air conditioning, But I don’t think that would help in humid weather.

  2. Concerning the air conditioning if your power goes out.. our experience during Florida hurricane season..if all else fails,
What we do is sit in the car with the air conditioner running at night..😂

  3. So glad Randy got that wire up cause I’m sure it’s more than one raccoon. Maybe you picked off the leader? Hope so. (I’d have loved to have seen that) I know the history of sweet luck so , it was very upsetting seeing they’d found it. I really need a lesson or two about how to use this machine/tech…….maybe it’ll stick this time. Email, I’ve never done but one to Mr. Blair a decade ago😱I found the community page once, but then it was gone. 😂

  4. They have portable AC units that you can move from room to room and you don’t have to have someone install it.
These are definitely perilous times and we should all be preparing mentally, spiritually and physically. The children deserve wise parents and grandparents.

  5. Good morning Kaye! It was sure nice to take some time and listen to you this morning and watch your video. I don’t know how you guys do that with the humidity! We have a gigantic backyard but have about 50 trees on the property and 1 million plants I think and a very small vegetable garden. I wish I could substitute Lawn for vegetable garden, but my husband does not see that… Lol! I did see the weather report and looks like you guys are in for a tremendous amount of heat, and with all that humidity trapped inside of a dome… I will keep you all in my prayers! Please be careful with that electricity! When I was in high school waiting at the school bus stop near a horse corral, somebody dared me to touch this fence. I had no idea it was an electric fence. I touched it, and nothing happened. I put both hands on the wire And held on and was waiting still nothing and then all of a sudden boom! I felt like I had been thrown about 50 yards and punched in the chest! Looking back I’m surprised that didn’t kill me. Talking about air conditioning brings back a horrible memory. A few years ago Here in Redding California where our temperatures can reach up to 118 in the summertime, we lost our air conditioning in spring and after contacting several air conditioner companies, and realizing our entire unit was going to need to be replaced. This was not going to happen until October. We purchased two of the window, air conditioners from Home Depot and got them all set up. We had one in the living room and one in the master bedroom. We have a good size home so I bought a couple of curtain panels and tension rods, and put one separating the living room into the large kitchen And one at the hallway. I think this really helped contain that cooler air in the living room. the master bedroom seemed to cool fairly well at night. That was a miserable summer with a fire burning all summer long as well. Finally I contacted the air conditioner company And said I’m just really worried about breathing all of the smoke and not having any filter pads like we normally have. He tells me, oh, you can still run your fan. It’s just the air conditioner that is not working. I could have just screamed! I think that was the summer we used our pool the most! Anyway, I know this is lengthy, but on a separate note, maybe it’s in your channel information, but I would love to purchase seeds from you if you sell them. I hope you have a blessed day and stay cool. You are so busy and I totally understand. I don’t think there’s one bone in my body that can relax. Even if I could relax that last a short time. It’s just not in me. Love you bunches! I did not check this for grammatical errors! 😊

  6. I have been running four fans for 40 years being on solar. I broke down this year and bought a window mount a/c mini split as I now try to use as much of the sun as I can. Now I see why people are so addicted to a/c.

  7. That’s really hot for there! 94? So don’t go upstairs and certainly don’t sleep upstairs. In hurricane outage we stay low. With high ceilings and big windows people did well years ago but many houses don’t have them. A portable window unit is handy and a pastor friend loaned us one because big a/c went out. It’s a Hisense 12,000 BTU/H and was $459. Looks like it came from big box store. Rated for 550 sq feet. Pitchfork in hand (perfect! 😂) I tackled massive crabgrass overgrowth yesterday and I won. You are doing this, Kaye!

  8. When the bear tore into the bee hives I put up livestock fence attached to conduit on T post and electrified it. No more problems. I loaned out my tester but found a better more convenient way to test the fence with a blade of grass held between the fingers. Touch the tip to the wire and slowly slide closer till you feel a bump like pulse as you move closer. This give you a solid idea of whats going on quickly. Thanks for sharing.

  9. Good Morning !!! Critters are hard on a garden here. Never had this kind of crop damage to this extent in Florida , many years back. Ameranth & another little weed from Brazil that showed up 4 years ago , it's even more invasive than Ameranth. You still have a beautiful garden ! Yes it's going to be hot in a few days ! Forecasting heat index of up to 109 . Don't overdo it . Hope you have great day !

  10. I'm here in South Central Kentucky and you're right. It is really hard to breathe. It's the humidity I believe.

  11. Watch the Nomad youtubers to learn how they keep cool or warm using batteries and solar and so on. I have a couple od nomad friends using window AC using their solar.

  12. Hello kaye, so good to see you. Oh yes, the heat is certainly a struggle. Im very happy Randy was able to add a bit more line.its horrible that you got shocked, bless you.please, kaye, do not be embarrassed about reat life. It's important to be you, which is what we always love and admire about you, kaye. Its always a pleasure, but it's also fine if you don't want us to see the weeds. That's perfectly fine, but no being embarrassed. 😊..im hoping your day goes well today, 6.30 pm now here. Thinking of you kaye with thankyou s, God bless. 😊😊

  13. I can remember a summer in the mid 1970’s when my kids were toddlers. We had no air conditioning. The temperature reached a sweltering 102 in the Detroit area. I kept filling their kiddie pool with cool water and even sat in there with them. I remember the city of Detroit opened the fire hydrants to let the inner city kids get some relief. Cool showers or soaking your feet in cool water helps! Good to hear your advice concerning staining wood. I was going to stain the new steps into our new sunroom. I will wait until they are seasoned later this summer. The wild goose peas I purchased from you are flowering now. 😊 Stay cool and take care.

  14. Thank you Kaye. Great show!
For people without power or generator etc, they might use the woodstove method of getting the coals going.. the flew and door open a sliver.
Open a door or window a sliver on the shaded side of house, and then another door or window on the other side of the house a sliver. A vortex will suck out the heat and get a breeze going thru.
I pray everyone stays cool and safe. Or maybe a wet washcloth on the back of the neck, top of the head and sit in front of a fan of breeze.
