GARDEN, Mich. (WBUP/WJMN) —A 56-year-old convicted felon prohibited from owning firearms was arrested and arraigned after officers seized 39 guns, a variety of ammo, and methamphetamine from his home in Garden Township, according to Michigan State Police (MSP).
Troopers say they were informed of an individual, later identified as Bruce Rochefort, who was suspected of possessing firearms while being a convicted felon prohibited from owning guns or ammunition.
After confirming that information, MSP personnel located Rochefort in Gladstone on Thursday, June 26. While performing a search of his vehicle, troopers found and seized a black pneumatic gun, a double-edged sword measuring over 18 inches in length, hydrocodone pills, and ammunition in four different calibers.
At the same time, fellow troopers search Rochefort’s home with a warrant. They located and seized 39 firearms, including rifles, shotguns, and handguns, along with a large variety of ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and a small amount of meth.
Rochefort was arraigned on the following charges:
His bond was set at $25,000 cash/surety and is next expected in court on July 9.
