TODAY’S VIDEO: If you’ve ever wondered how to block a neighbor’s view with plants, this landscape design is for you! In this video, I’m sharing a full sun front yard privacy design created to screen an unsightly view while adding four seasons of color and interest.
One challenge? The neighbor removed trees and overgrowth, turning a shade garden full of hostas into a full sun planting area. That meant it was time for a completely new plant plan.
Plants used in this design:
• Blue Point Juniper
• Hetzii Columnaris Juniper
• Happy Returns Daylily
• Double Play Doozie Spirea
• Northwind Switch Grass (Panicum)
• Berry White Panicle Hydrangea
Clethera Sugartine
I’ll show you the existing landscape, the design using ProLandscape software, and explain why each plant was chosen to create privacy, structure, texture, and long-lasting color.

Perhaps for some sanity…buy the product, and ask the neighbor if you can spray ur fence on his side…and spray a lil extra over there 😉..I know its her expense rn, but maybe he'll see results and confer w her and buy the next round…..unless hes completely an a hole.
What a beautiful design – you really nailed it. Feel sorry for your friend – seems like every area has at least one person who doesn’t care about their property. GRRRRRR. What was the name of the weed that you pulled – I battle with that as well. Thanks for your great videos. ❤️😺
2026 is officially the year of total freedom. The smartest move was building automated income streams instead of just working for a paycheck.
Now clearing $54,250 every week and finally owning every hour of the dey. This is the result of staying focused and going all in………..
Great design! Pretty privacy.
Nice design, but I was confused that you added hydrangeas if you were looking for drought tolerance…?
I do have a neighbor that absolutely doesn’t care what is growing in his lawn, and the previous owner did the white picket fence. The neighbor has all those annoying runner, weeds and in his lawn and they comes right up into my garden bed. Another thing one of the previous owners did over there is plant a California redwood. I think it’s a California redwood probably 10 feet maybe 20 feet from my property line, and it’s not doing very well. I’m telling you living in New Hampshire and looking at a giant redwood 20 feet from your property line not doing well…… it is very scary, because if it falls this way, there goes my house.😅
I would run some plastic drain pipe with drainage holes in it, like 2” sump pump tubing. Run that off the downspout all the way down your hedgerow to help it grow faster, that’s what I did.
