June is one of my favorite times in the garden, and this year everything seems especially happy. After a wonderfully rainy spring, the beds are full, the pollinators are busy, and plants throughout the garden are putting on quite a show. From towering tree lilies and fragrant nicotiana to coneflowers, bee balm, milkweed, salvias, and daylilies, nearly every corner of the farm is coming alive.

In this episode, I’m taking you on an early morning walk through the garden to share what’s thriving, what’s being changed, and a few plans for the rest of the summer season. We’ll look at new plantings, pollinator favorites, garden successes, and a few areas that are still evolving as the season progresses.

One of the things I’ve enjoyed most this year is seeing the incredible number of bees, butterflies, and other pollinators visiting the garden. The combination of milkweed, coneflowers, bee balm, yarrow, and other nectar-rich plants has made the garden absolutely buzz with activity.

Gardening is always a work in progress, but this season has been especially rewarding. I hope you’ll join me for a stroll through the garden and see what’s blooming here at Okarga Farms.

I’m so glad you’re here in the garden with me.

  1. Great video, Chip! Everything is so beautiful! You have so many of my favorites! I love the peach drift roses, English lavender, skyscraper salvia, and the deep purple petunias. I can’t believe how beautiful the day lilies are with such deep purple colors. I need to add those to my landscaping as well, and add more lime green for accent like you did. I can’t wait to see the new planters and the finished stone pathway. Looking forward to the potting shed reveal!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻👍🏻
