I just noticed it today? I asked Google Gemini & they said its because of a "stuck petiolar sheath tissue that tore open as the new Monstera Albo leaf tried to push its way out" which it's true I'm getting a new leaf its popping out. They also said it's cosmetic & that it only effects the petiole not the main steam?
Just wanted to pop in & ask has this happened to any of you & how can you prevent it?

I think this might be a root popping out. I’ve seen the sides split a bit on mine when they decide to push one out.
