TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Some of the Sunflower State’s foremost plant experts were under one roof Thursday night to help people care for their own flora.

The Shawnee County Extension Master Gardeners hosted its first Plant Care Fair Thursday evening. It was an expanded version of the former Sick Plant Clinic, held inside the Topeka and Shawnee Co. Public Library.

K-State Extension agents and representatives from local horticulture organizations were on hand to educate guests on basic garden care, as well as more urgent maladies their plants may be facing.

“We have had questions regarding trees, weeds,” Alice Ann Oliver, President of the Master Gardeners, said. “We’ve got a turf expert with us today, and an entomologist from K-State who can answer some really cool bug questions.”

The event is held every summer. You can find a full calendar of events, and plant care resources, here.
