I used a bunch of ten foot hazel poles to make giant teepees this year, and filled the beds beneath with herbs, salad, and chard. Tomatoes and beans growing up the poles, pumpkins and melons bursting out the sides. More potential in my garden than ever before and I am so damn excited about this summer. I had no idea nigella seeds are edible. Jackpot – yet another huge harvest since they're one of my favorite self-seeders!

Lol. Perilla is a horrendously invasive pasture weed, here in the Mid-Atlantic of the USA. The grazers can't eat it, and it self-seeds aggressively. I've harvested huge amounts for dye (got a lovely sage green with an alum pre-mordant and iron modifier). But it's hard to knock it back enough. The plant grows like crazy and it's toxic to the livestock.

Well, I am good at making book displays at the library where I work. Which I keep in mind when my garden inevitably does poorly, lol. Love your videos, as you seem to naturally understand plants and how to arrange them and care for them. Happy harvesting this summer!
Never seen peas both planted on teepees and this late in the season so really interested to see how this turns out. I figured it was too hot for them at his point and didnt know they thrive with just a bamboo pole

Not a big deal, but your bamboo construction for beans and peas, is shaped like a Tipi not a Wig-wam. A wigwam is a dome construction, very rounded, not too tall and covered in mud and turf.
The tall, circular pointy one is a Tipi. 💚💚💚👍
I love your slightly less chaotic version of my chaos garden. I basically just throw plants in everywhere and see what happens. It’s always different. It’s always interesting and it always yields lots of lots of vegetables and pretty flowers!
Your channel is keeping me sane. I live in an area that is plagued by every garden pest and disease known to man. Extreme heat and drought followed by torrential rain, hail, high winds, and tornadoes. Then well into the -C for winter, with no cover of snow.
This year I finally gave up after having a neighbor sprayed 2 4D into the wind. Killed 100 vine vineyard, half my landscaping, my entire garden .. but there are no enforceable laws here. So I give up. I'll watch you until I can get a safe place to try again.
Because of my small space I started growing snow peas on a round fence a few years ago – but found making it a U-shape both helps with delaying powdery mildew and makes harvesting the middle easier.
That red orache really pops. Eating some as I watch this – yum!
