A group of simple black crates became a productive zucchini garden in a small backyard.

We lined the crates with burlap, filled them with potting soil, planted zucchini seedlings, and let each plant grow in its own section. The raised, modular design keeps the garden organized while creating a beautiful backyard harvest.

From empty crates to healthy plants and fresh zucchini, this project shows how an ordinary material can become a space-saving edible garden.

Would you build a crate garden like this in your backyard?
