OMYGARDJUNGLE… THEY’RE COMING FOR MY OASIS 🌿😭🏗 | GardJungle Renovations
It starts in early September.
They’re finally beginning work on the inner courtyard.
And suddenly………….. OMYGARDJUNGLE.
There goes my GardJunGLe.
Years of effort | Years of experiments | Years of creating a little mountain-like oasis in the middle of chaos.
Now I have to dismantle the already broken tent skeleton that became home to my climbing and crawling plants.
The same structure that wasn’t just a structure.
It was support. A jungle gym for nature.
And then reality hits. How am I supposed to move a 3-meter olive tree…
in a 90-liter pot?! And what about the others?
The figs | The berries | The cuttings | The experiments.
The tiny victories hidden inside leaves and roots.
Will they survive? Because honestly………
I don’t know if I can | The tension is real.
One moment, I’m enjoying freshly picked sweet cherries from my neighbors’ tree. The next, I’m planning a botanical evacuation mission.
Lellie? Lellie has decided she’s a plant now.
Sunbathing inside the neighbors’ planter box like she pays rent there.
This cat is actively trying to start neighborhood diplomacy incidents. 😭🐱🌿
Fortuna? Fortuna declared the weather too hot and proceeded to shed enough fur onto the carpet to manufacture an entirely new cat.
Which means… I have to vacuum. Again | And again | And again.
Summer Hair Season Sessions. Then there are the last bench moments.
Lellie lounging outside as if she somehow understands this place is changing.
As if she knows these are the final chapters of this version of home.
So she stretches a little longer.
Sleeps a little deeper | Lives a little louder.
Maybe this oasis won’t survive exactly as it was.
Maybe mountains collapse. Maybe gardens are dismantled.
But seeds travel | Roots adapt.
And jungles have a strange habit of returning when people least expect them to. This wasn’t just a garden. It was therapy | It was rebellion.
It was hope in pots and containers.
And if I have to rebuild……Then I’ll rebuild.
