MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Musical performances, pop-ups, and food carts will once again fill the Olbrich Botanical Gardens for Olbrich After Hours, returning on June 23.
What is Olbrich After Hours?
Olbrich After Hours is a free weekly summer event series that returns to the gardens every Tuesday. This summer series will run June 23 – Aug. 11 from 6–9 p.m. at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 3330 Atwood Ave., in Madison.
The series includes a lineup of bands and vendors.
Although the event is free to attend, a $5 donation per person is suggested to support the performers.
During the series kickoff on June 23, Folklore Village, a nonprofit dedicated to sharing traditions, will lead a majstång dance around a pole to celebrate summer. Kelli Emerson, the assistant director of Folklore Village, said they are excited to share this tradition with the Madison community.
“We’ll have this really impressive 17-foot-tall-pole” Emerson said. “We’ll be decorating it with greenery, flowers, and just creating this really lush piece for Olbrich’s After Hours concert.”
The community is welcome to help decorate the pole at the gardens from 3 to 5 p.m. on June 23.
Do I need tickets to attend?
Tickets are required for entry before 6:45 p.m. Tickets are available on Olbrich’s website. Walk-ins are welcome after that.
