TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – From keeping pests off your petunias to taming your trees and keeping your lawn luscious, the Shawnee Co. Master Gardeners and K-State Extension can help.
Master Gardener Kevin Siek and Horticulture Agent Lane Wiens visited Eye on NE Kansas with information on their upcoming events.
First is their Plant Care Fair. Local experts will be on hand to diagnosis your lawn and garden concerns, and offer treatment advice. It runs 3 to 7 p.m. June 18 at the Topeka & Shawnee Co. Public Library.
People should bring in samples and/or photos that illustrate the problem. For information on how to collect the samples and what to collect,visit this link.
The K-State Extension also has plans to mark Kansas Pollinator Week. It runs June 22 to 28.
People are invited to join a Wildflower Walk at 6 p.m. June 23 at Grant Bradbury Prairie, 6600 SW Westview. They’ll also host a session to Make Wildflower Seed Bombs. It takes place 10 a.m. to Noon June 25 at their Hillside Garden, 1740 SW Western.
