Audio sounded fine whole time
That coffee cake looks delicious!
Just an FYI . . .I found this Current Coffee Cake recipe on Pinterest for those of you who want to try it!
I put frozen peas i my mac&cheese…i know it sounds crazy.
Laura you find good recipes!! Feel free to start looking for some pumpkin 🎃 or apple 🍎 recipes for those of autumn lovers!
What do you think about Oregon trying to keep people that live in the state from having gardens and producing fruits and vegetables?
I wouldn’t abandon your Bundt pan. I would make a cake and freeze it for a day when you want a quick treat!
With how much cooking you do im surprised you dont harvest the garlic scapes. Have you ever made a compound butter with scapes? ❤
A Gardener's Bounty
The spring brings the promise of spikes to unfold,
With the planting of corms in the sun-warmed dark mold.
Liatris reaches for bright summer skies,
Drawing the butterflies right to our eyes.
Then midsummer whispers it is time for the toil,
When garlic is ready to lift from the soil.
Brush back the dirt when the lower leaves brown,
Dig out the bulbs for the curing to crown.
Out in the brambles, the clusters hang low,
Like small ruby drops in the midsummer glow.
We harvest the currants, the tart and the sweet,
Plucking the berries to make us a treat.
Back in the kitchen, the flour is stirred,
With the hum of the oven and flight of a bird.
The batter is folded, the currants dropped in,
As a coffee cake bakes to a golden-crusted grin.
From dirt to the dessert, the labors we praise,
To enjoy all the fruits of these midsummer days!
Another productive video! Planting the neat purple perennials and harvesting garlic. The cake looks delicious. Is there anything you don't do well at? The kids going by was funny….in their own world!💚
Thank you for this video; I love seeing garden to table baking/cooking! Your audio was fine throughout the whole video.
Katie at the kitchen door seeing their views 100x because a gardener talked about their site is my favorite thing about the internet
That cake looks so yummy 😋🤗
I’ll be digging my garlic soon – maybe even this evening.
I love the videos where the harvest is then turned into a yummy recipe. Thank you so much.
It kills me to watch you trying the currant coffee cake. I am salivating!! Will have to try it…
I planted brand new bulbs. love them but now they are flopping.
I have watched for many years, and really enjoy watching ,and learning about gardening. I was scanning YouTube and found an perfect video for Benjamin and Samantha Grace, check out: Livin' Our Vision , title of video: we almost drove past this in North Carolina , after watching it you may have to plan a NC vacation. Enjoy
Laura and guest, look for a product called "bake well" it's used instead of baking powder it has a great history during WW2, you get nice fluffy biscuits and cakes, you'll will love it… I found it on "kitchen in Shire"
Good Morning everyone! I had to harvest my garlic 🧄 a couple of weeks ago. The greens were 2 feet tall and and had about 4 or more leaves yellow. It turned out pretty good!
Such a beautiful garden 😍!
Cake looks yummy! We really enjoy the tart taste. I have no currets. I have been wanted to plant some.
Have a blessed day! ❤️💜🤗
Long time watcher of your videos, love them. I did notice a change in either your camera or settings because it seems a little hazy or softened a lot. Maybe it's just me, but things look a little muted.
Earlier this spring I made two recipes with blackcurrants I had in the freezer: Tin and Thyme Blackcurrant Almond Bars and Healthy Foodie Baby's Blackcurrant Almond Cake. Both were delicious but the bars were a family favourite. I may have to try this recipe with the rest of the currants 😋
Always fun to see ideas for using ‘the fruits of your labor’
The look at the kids, the kids nonchalantly strolling through 😂 all masked up
I was curious, how’s the rhubarb doing after you put it under the pot? I think I could see it, a little bit in the video. Is it thriving or is it gonna take another year?
Hi Laura, just wondering if you got the white liatris seed heads I sent you. I watch your show everyday and did not see you open the pkg.
Anyway if you still want some I will save some seeds for you.
to use up the garlic from last year that's going bad, you can food process it, scoop it into blobs and freeze it for use as you need it
64 heads. Oops, dropped another one.
I have a neighbor across the street who did that exact combo with white hydrangeas and the gayfeathers and ive been obsessed with it for years. Theres always butterflies over there
Sound was fine for me throughout the planting and harvesting. What a fun day. Loved the projects and ending with a new recipe using farm to table! Thanks for bringing us along. You are such a joy Laura! ❤❤❤
The audio was fine for me, no problems.
Hey Laura. Love your videos starts my day. I am thinking on the cake besides all the other berries you can put in there if you can put pomegranate in it. It might make it good too.
Does anyone know what kind of tree is in the foreground of where she planted the liatris?
Are you ever worried that the cats might smell or rub up against the lilies? They're so stunning, but my cats like to roam my garden, and it's the only plant I can't risk having. 🙁
What will you replant in the open garden bed?? And a little of topic but can you plant parsnips in June for a October harvest??
My order came in I love my new tee shirt . Really good quality. Can’t wait to see what’s next . Coffee cake looks really yummy. Garden looks beautiful.
Love when you make a recipe using things that you have grown My grandparents had a farm my papaw grew everything imaginable and my mamaw canned it dried it froze it etc He even grew pigs I grew up helping harvest crops The hardest to pick was the strawberries so last yr when you put in those raised beds for the berries I was thinking that’s so smart!! Love your videos and family I wish I had a picture of my mamas root cellar with all the beautiful jars of deliciousness great memory tho🌺🍉
Inspector Douglas 🐈 is on the job! 😺 🧄
Your cake looks so tasty and l bet it smells so good ..k don't like currants so l may try it with raspberry .just a great video today
Maybe the berries shrink up, and that's why they say that many berries should be added.
Hi Laura. I love your videos. A perfect start to my mornings. Question: Did you reduce the ingredients for the coffee cake? I looked up the original recipe and it calls for more of the ingredients than what you used. Your cake looks delicious! I wish TVs had smell-a-vision. Lol
Audio was good didn’t notice. I heard everything clearly.
Oh my gosh Laura! Have you ever had the heirloom variety of tomatoes called "SPOON TOMATOES!?" They are tiny Currant-sized fruits and Since you can fit a bunch in a spoon, I'm assuming that's why they call them that!
They make the most beautiful little tomato rainbows in little clusters of ripening tomatoes! Everything from green to red on each little bunch!
They are the most perfect size for not having to slice or dice your tomatoes for salads. Such a nice pop in a pasta salad! The most sweet little bite I've ever had before! *besides ground cherries.
Excellent picked and frozen to use as baby ice cubes in a bloody Mary or a nice frozen snack after you've been outside, as well!
The neighborhood kids love to come over and pick them by the little basketful and take home.
So incredibly cute & shareable!
Looking at it done, I feel you could of added all the currant.
Nice video! I really like currant scones but I have never had red currant scones! Thank you for sharing.
❤❤❤❤❤
