Police: Suspect charged after woman found shot at Garden City travel stop

GARDEN CITY, Ga. —
Update 1:45 p.m.:
Garden City police say a 29-year-old Rincon man is in custody as a result of the investigation.
“It has been determined that the shooting occurred on Old Louisville Road near Dean Forest Road in Garden City, GA,” police said in a written statement released Thursday afternoon.
Ryan Boyd faces charges of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery “and other related charges.”
Police say the victim remains in critical condition.


Initial report:
A woman was found critically injured at a Garden City travel stop Thursday, and a person of interest is now in custody, police said.
Officers were called to Love’s Travel Stop at 2 Sonny Perdue Drive around 6:51 a.m., according to the Garden City Police Department. When they arrived, they found the woman inside a vehicle with life-threatening injuries.
She was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment.
Police said the shooting remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet released the person of interest’s identity or details about what led up to the shooting.
