COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Gardens at Texas A&M hosted their yearly summer celebration on Saturday.
The summer celebration this year is celebrating the 8th year of existence for the garden.
The goal of the garden is to focus on teaching different aspects of horticulture.
Community members were able to come in and walk around, with different hands-on activities for kids.
“It was always a pipe dream for the department. We have always had various spurts and starts on garden efforts. So, we have a real garden now and a good infrastructure. We are trying to set ourselves to grow into the best land grant garden in the country,” said Michael Arnold, the Director of The Garden.
The Garden is open every day from dusk until dawn.
Arnold says that many more events and programs will be held at The Garden throughout the year.
