Parade of Homes features St. Jude dwelling
The Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans’ 2026 Parade of Homes tour will offer the chance to see a variety of new residences over two consecutive weekends later this month.
Tickets, which are free, will be required to explore the buildings June 20-21 and June 27-28. Plus, ticket holders can enter a raffle for a ticket to a Saints game.
Self-guided tours of the homes are from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day, with builder representatives on hand for questions and information. Neighborhoods include River Ridge; Parks of Plaquemines; Crestmont Park, Bonnabel Place and Cottam Park in Metairie; Live Oak Manner in Westwego; Garden Park in Gretna; Water Oaks in Waggaman; and English Turn and Audubon Park in New Orleans.
The association is also a supporter of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, which raffles off a new home for $100 per ticket to raise funds for the Children’s Research Hospital. The new construction, valued at $750,000, is located at 1045 Orion Ave. in Metairie.

Learn to research your home’s history
The Friends of the Cabildo will help get homeowners on the road to learning about the history of local properties June 20 at the New Orleans Jazz Museum in the Old U.S. Mint, 400 Esplanade Ave.
Tulane University architecture lecturer Robert J. Cangelosi Jr. will present “Researching Your New Orleans Property,” an in-depth seminar about historic dwellings and their lineages, including how to find primary sources rather than using oral traditions and secondary sources, and preparing a “chain of title.”
Documents showing the ownership of a property can, in theory, go as far back as the early 1700s during the French Colonial period.
The class will be at 10 a.m. in-person and live on Zoom. Tickets start at $25. To join the class or for information, call (504) 523-3939 or visit friendsofthecabildo.org.
