  1. Won’t the weeds get in growining from the organic debris from the trees over time?

Really great post and very much appreciated though

  2. Nice Vid thanks. How would you edge a garden though that isn't straight? ie. Follow a curved path?

  3. Mcdonalds are always happy to give away cardboard. Just ask, they normally let you help yourself.

  4. I had hedging put in by builder to seperate the garden from the raised border a few years ago. part of the garden has now sunk on the edge and hence when raining it fills with water and expose the thrown down concrete. waste of money but now cannot do it again no more money left

  5. You can get tiny string line levels that attach to the string line, don't think any DIYer is going to buy that laser level

  6. Bark is lovely .. but watch out for mushroom growth! We had a whole load of strange fungi eruptions.. the bark had been imported and mixed from Canadian forestry to U.K.

  7. We have used both weed fabric and the cardboard idea with great results on our allotments, also the 100 liter bags from compost or chipped bark are great for parking areas, when used with slabs and bark between because they are black inside.

  8. Long time viewer, first time commenting: I think ^_^
Little tip I picked up from somewhere, when cutting that weed membrane use a gas soldiering iron with a cut bit, no frayed edges and its just a quick to size

  9. You can buy some cheaper pebbles to put in the bottom of the area before putting the decorative stone on top. Just don't over do it and it will look the same and you've saved your self a bob. Especially if you have a large area to cover.

  10. 11:57 Try sealing your stones with concrete sealer for that lasting wet look.
Wash & dry them, load up your mixer and put in a small amount of sealer.
No mixer? Put clean stones on an old tarp, add sealer and roll stones back and forth to get complete coverage. Easier with 2 people but doable alone.
    It takes surprisingly little sealer.

  11. Looks good for about 1 or 2 years once the soil moist it will crack πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, footing need deeper 300mm minimum

  12. Thanks for the video. One question, why did you put plasticiser in the mix when just setting the edging?

  13. Weed seeds blowing into the garden can (and will) grow in the bark mulch and the gravel, the cardboard and landscape fabric only stops established weeds in the soil from growing. Bark mulch will break down over time, forming a rich compost
